How We Earn Money
YOUtility LLC may receive a referral fee or commission from some providers when you sign up for a plan through our Services. These fees help us keep YOUtility free for residents to use.
Our Promise: Fees Never Affect Your Ranking
A referral relationship never influences your recommendation ranking or score. Our Prometheus scoring engine ranks every provider using the same objective factors — such as price, contract flexibility, renewable energy, reliability, and customer satisfaction — weighted by the priorities you set. Whether or not a provider has a commercial relationship with us has no bearing on where it appears in your results.
Providers Without a Relationship
We show providers regardless of whether we have a referral relationship with them. If a provider that pays no referral fee is the best match for your priorities, it will still be ranked accordingly. Our goal is to surface the genuinely best option for your address and preferences.
Local Ratings
Where we display satisfaction indicators for local services, those reflect ratings from local users of those businesses and are provided for informational purposes.
